Coordinated Supports for Complex Needs
Stillwater Community Living Inc. is a Calgary-based organization developing respite and residential supports for adults with developmental disabilities, including individuals who may have complex behavioural, personal-care, communication or mental-health support needs.Our aim is to provide individualized support built around the person - their needs, preferences, routines, relationships, communication, goals and quality of life.We believe good support goes beyond keeping someone safe and meeting their basic needs. It should help each person experience belonging, choice, meaningful relationships, community participation and a life that reflects who they are.
Who We Are
Stillwater was established in response to a challenge many families experience: finding appropriate supports when an individual's needs do not fit comfortably within conventional or lower-support service models. We are building Stillwater around the principles of person-centred support, dignity and respect, safety, individual choice, family collaboration, community inclusion and quality of life. We recognize that choosing a service provider is a significant decision. Families should understand who is behind the organization, how services are being developed and whether Stillwater is appropriate for their family member.
